The organisers of the 56th Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival are delighted to name the members of this year's Media Lions jury, which has been increased by 5 people this year to facilitate the lengthy judging and discussion procedure.

"As well as being one of the largest juries at Cannes, this is also a formidable jury assembling some of the world's top media minds who will exert much expertise and knowledge to the judging process," says Philip Thomas, CEO of the Festival. "This year, as well as improving many aspects of the way the Media Lions are judged, we were determined to gather together a truly world-class group, and I am delighted we did so. Under the guidance of Nick Brien, this jury will help to set the standards for quality media thinking."

Changes to Media Lions

As previously announced, a number of changes will be introduced to the Media Lions section for 2009. These include a revision of the categories, changes to the entry written submission, restructuring the way Media Lions will be judged to reflect the three crucial elements of a piece of media work placing more emphasis on the outcome of each media case, and the credits will acknowledge the Media agency as well as the entrant company.

 

The Media Lions winners will be revealed on Tuesday 23 June.

The 56th International Advertising Festival will be held 21-27 June 2009 in Cannes, France.


The International Advertising Festival - Cannes Lions - is the largest gathering of worldwide advertising professionals and advertisers as well as the most prestigious annual advertising awards.
