Atlantic Group announced that it had sold DDM

Atlantic Group announced today that it had sold a controlling stake of Internet agency DDM to DBA Media of Los Angeles

Group President Andrew Bain stated the sale of this stake in DDM was based on DDM’s focus on the US market: ‘Ukraine has a great asset in its programming, design and animation skills. We have been able to partner with a US company that sees the benefit of outsourcing its work to Kiev.’
DBA Media Creative Chairman Dave Thomas emphasized that he has sent out several technical experts to evaluate the skills of DDM prior to the purchase. ‘Our guys came back very enthusiastic about the talent in Kiev. We plan to send more specialists over there to help in training and organization. We’ve already committed some work from two major advertising clients to DDM as well as an animated series.’ Mr. Thomas, formerly a writer, producer and actor on American television shows SCTV and Grace Under Fire, is best known for his role as Doug McKenzie in the hit American movie Strange Brew. Co-Author of the Cold War comedy Spies Like Us, Mr. Thomas remarked at his interest in learning more about post-Soviet Ukraine, ‘Now that our mutual spies have been rounded up and thrown in jail where they belong, it's time to stop inspecting each other's trash and get down to the serious business of making money.’
DBA Production Supervisor Tim Jones was on hand at the announcement in Los Angeles. ‘I spent a week in January working with the studio and the team at DDM. They’re as professional in their approach as we find in studios in California. I’m looking forward to returning and working with Marina, Sergey and the team some more.’ Senior DBA writer/actor Rick Moranis also noted, ‘we are extremely interested in working with DDM on wireless animation.’

DDM is an advertising and Internet production agency specializing in creative commercial applications for consumer goods companies. DBA Media is a Los Angeles based New Media company which works with major advertisers to develop content for the Internet. Atlantic Group is a Kiev-Based holding and investment company.
